Organic Village Tempeh (seasoned and cooked)

Ingredients

  • 1 300g Organic Village Tempeh
  • Favourite herbs and spices
  • 1/2 tsp olive oil

Instructions

  • I recommend cutting the tempeh into slices or triangles.  If you are looking for a super crispy end result, turn on it's side and slice it through the middle to make thinner pieces.  If you want a softer inside texture, keep the pieces thicker.  Once cut, it's quite nice to season with your favourite spices (cumin, turmeric, cayenne pepper, smoked paprika, etc.) and then lightly pan fry (easy on the oil) for 3-5 minutes each side until crispy.  
    If you would rather avoid oils altogether, you can bake for 15 minutes without oil and turn at the halfway mark or steam in a basket for 10 minutes over simmering water.  If you steam, it can be quite nice to add in some vegetable broth or spices to the water to absorb in to the tempeh during cooking.
